TinNgai (“Tin”) Chan is a L.A.-based Cinematographer from China. We submitted his 3-year agent-based O-1 application on March 31, 2021 and his case was approved on May 12, 2021 with standard processing.
Tin’s background in engineering has sharpened his skills as a solution-oriented and communicative filmmaker. Coupling his engineering skills with an obsessive interest in image and sound, Tin earned his MFA in Film Production in 2019 at Loyola Marymount University, where he directed and photographed “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary,” a short film currently circulating among festivals. He writes:
“It was a pleasure to work with Jane and Rongrong. They are very professional lawyers. From the beginning, they told me what to prepare for each step and how to prepare. The whole process was very clear. They replied to my emails and WeChat messages in time and followed-up with me on every step. For a while in the middle, due to work reasons, I didn’t spend much time in preparing my portfolio. I wasn’t in a hurry until Jane told me that without a portfolio, it was impossible to write the final support letter to be submitted to USCIS, and the preparation of the support letter and other materials would take up to several weeks. Thanks to their unremitting efforts – we finally submitted the materials in time and my O-1 was approved smoothly. I’m very delighted for the approval, and will definitely recommend you to my friends who will be in need for visa.”
